Meet Burke!
1.5-2 year old, 70-lb male pittie
Our beautiful blue boy is now seeking his forever family. He's just as sweet and silly as he looks!
Burke is still a puppy....an enthusiastic, good-natured, 70-lb. puppy. He is crate trained, good on a leash and loves walks. His perfect people are hands-on and affectionate.
Burke's happy place is playing with other dogs. For this reason, his forever home must have at least one doggy playmate, plus a fenced yard to romp in. (We hold playdates with prospective adopters to make sure it's a good fit.)
Like many rescue dogs, Burke had a rough puppyhood.
When we pulled him from Chicago Animal Care & Control, he was sick and emaciated. He spent his first weeks with us battling pneumonia and giardia, but now he's healthy and strong.
We believe he was extensively crated as a young puppy--so he basically had to learn puppy manners from scratch.
Burke, his foster and trainer have worked hard to get to this point. It helps that he’s smart, food motivated and loves training!
