This young, little peanut was relinquished one weekend day that were at Chicago Animal Care and Control searching for pups to put in our open foster homes. Even though Maggie was being left at a loud, scary and busy shelter, she carried herself with grace and dignity. It was clear that this was one good egg!
However, when we went back nine days later, we were shocked that she was very sick and had lost a lot of weight. Our hearts feared that she was breaking down in the shelter environment and it was apparent that this little one needed out, and fast.
We didn’t have a foster home available, so we put out a plea for help among our volunteer base and sure enough, a doggie mommy raised her hand and a couple of days later, Maggie broke free and was taken home where she received the meds and love she needed.
Maggie has been spayed, is up to date on her shots and has been microchipped. This sweetheart easily entertains herself, but appreciates snuggling up close to her humans at the end of a fun day. She loves romping around her yard and honestly is cute as a button. While she was at CACC, she did well in playgroups with lower activity dogs.
