ADOPTED! This puppy grew up in a high kill shelter after being found as a stray. He spent the next 60 days growing up in the stressful, scary environment of a high-kill shelter that was past capacity and in the process of construction, thus causing them to close down two areas that greatly limited their space. The amount of homeless and owner surrendered dogs didn’t slow down, which tragically affected those animals living there.
Thankfully, Leon participated in the shelter playgroup run by a strong volunteer base. Without this basic skill, and his crazy level of cuteness, he probably would not have survived as long as he did. His photo kept creeping into the threads one of our fosters was watching and when Leon’s time ran out, she and her family took action!
Leon is being fostered for his isolation period, and once he proves to be healthy, neutered and fully vaccinated, he’ll be ready to be moved into a longer term or forever home.
Leon is good with people of all ages and when introduced to a cat, was super interested. So, until we can do more kitty introductions, we’ll put living with cats on the table.
Leon is a fast learner, loving to play and willing to train. He is the perfect balance of playful and snuggly, contented to burrow into his person and dream away.
We’re still in the process of learning more about Leon, but so far, he has proven to be quite the good boy. You really don’t want to miss out on this little hunk. Let us know if you are interested in fostering Leon or making him a forever part of your family.
