ADOPTED!
Ivy is a beautiful pit bull/bull terrier mix. She is short, stocky, and oh so cute! She is also shy, very sweet…and very, very smart. Ivy already knows ‘sit,’ ‘down,’ and how to give paw.
Ivy and her puppy Sprout were picked up together, wandering as strays. Like all strays, she was taken to a kill facility, where we found her and Sprout. Ivy does well with most other dogs when introduced properly, loves to run in the yard, and thinks rolling in the grass is pure Heaven. She is playful, but she is also content to sleep on the couch and collect lots of lovin’.
How cute is this: each morning, Ivy does her yoga moves while waiting to be let out of her crate. Then, she proceeds with a few more poses before breakfast.
We are finding out that Ivy would do best in a quieter home with lower activity. Though over time Ivy has become more confident, we want to make sure she is comfortable and happy in a new home. She is currently on Proin, a medication to curb incontinence. It’s working like a charm. Proin is inexpensive and easy to give (she eats it like a treat, no peanut butter required).
Ivy and Sprout love each other’s company and play beautifully together. As a matter of fact, their bond has grown to the point that they truly depend on each other. It is rare for their foster mommy not to find them snuggled on the couch together. So, if you’re considering one of them, please consider doubling the love by adopting them as a duo.
