Bones

This sweet 1 year old boy was found in the parking lot of a Chicago suburb hospital around three months ago,  left in a locked crate with a 30lb bag of dog food and a note attached to the crate explaining the commands this emaciated boy knows.  And to make matters worse, it was only five degrees above zero that night.  Talk about a head-scratcher!

This little boy’s story is truly a mystery. He has been starved, has scars on his body and sutures embedded into his left ear from perhaps a couple of months ago. There is even the possibly that the sutures were done at someone’s home by the people who had him. Thankfully, the local police brought him to a local vet office, he was delivered into the hands of angels.  Bones should have weighed between 50 and 60 pounds, but the scale showed a mere 30 pounds.  The fact that he survived is a blessing.

We’ll ever know what happened to Bones or why he ended up where he did.  But what we do know is that this great boy deserves a change of luck and a chance to show his true colors.  Bones was in a foster home for the first few months after his rescue, but has now been in boarding for the past couple of weeks, since mid-April.  This can be a hard transition for many dogs, so we are hoping that someone has a special place in their heart for him.
